Meet the Team

We are n0de

n0de is co-founded by Rob Brimblecombe & Scott Ferraro, who spearheaded Monash University's award-winning Net Zero Initiative

Monash was the first Australian University to make the pledge to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030, demonstrating strong leadership in climate action and paving the way for other universities and cities to achieve their Net Zero targets. In 2018, the University also won the United Nations Momentum for Change Award in recognition of its sustainability efforts.

Now, Monash is backing n0de to share that proven formula for success.

With their extensive expertise and growing technology platform, n0de’s vision is a world where all organisations are empowered to lead the global transition to a renewable-powered future. In short, we aim to develop solutions that enable businesses to undertake their own Net Zero transformation in a way that is faster, more transparent, more valuable, and more fun.

Meet the n0dians

Co-Founder

  • Before co-founding n0de, Rob led Monash University’s Engineering and Net Zero teams, where he developed and delivered Monash’s UN Momentum For Change Winning Net Zero Initiative. This work included the delivery of Australia's first large scale Passive House Net Zero buildings and over $200m in climate financing. He also oversaw Monash’s energy management and procurement activities and the establishment of the University’s successful Murra Warra power purchase agreement. He developed a range of industry partnerships focused on digital transformation and energy as a service, securing tens of millions of dollars in savings, new revenue and grant funding for the University. He has lectured in building science and renewable energy systems, supervised applied research projects in sustainable development and co-authored the book 'Positive Energy Homes’. In addition to multiple energy degrees, he has a PhD in solar hydrogen and completed a Fulbright Fellowship at Princeton University. In addition to n0de, Rob is a co-founder at Southern Sea Greens, a pioneering climate-focused seaweed regenerative farming business on the Mornington Peninsula.

Co-Founder

  • Before co-founding n0de, Scott was part of the leadership team, including a period as acting CEO, at ClimateWorks Australia, where he co-led the 'Pathways to Deep Decarbonization in 2050' initiative, translating net-zero strategies for government bodies including international, Federal, State and local governments, and corporate partners such as Vicinity Centres, Melbourne Water, Bunnings, and Monash University. He then went on to lead Monash University’s $135m Net Zero Initiative integrating operational deployment with research, education, and industry collaboration. He led the development of the Monash Microgrid, facilitating building and grid interactivity, and fostering collaboration across Universities, government, and industry, including the establishment of the Monash-Engie Net Zero Solutions Alliance. On top of this work he is currently a board member of the Energy Efficiency Council, co-led the establishment of the Electric Vehicle Council, and Chaired the Surf Coast Renewable Energy Taskforce. Coupled with his professional experience, as a qualified Environmental Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Corporate Environmental and Sustainability Management, Scott has a deep understanding of the technical and commercial challenges and solutions to deliver Net Zero for businesses.

Our Principles

Inspire with informed optimism

At n0de, we promote hopeful action through science-backed optimism. It can be easy at times to feel lost in the quagmire of data and greenwashing. Our goal is to inspire confidence and ambition by sharing well-researched insights and success stories.

Make the world healthier and happier

We all exist together on this small blue dot called Earth. Every n0dian works hard to make our planet a healthier and happier place but we take care of ourselves and each other too. We prioritise sustainability and wellbeing in all activities, not just our solutions.

Act with purpose, not ego

We prioritise humility and purposeful actions over personal recognition, every time. By setting aside ego, we make space for innovation and the magic that happens when diverse teams unite around an important mission.

Be curious and generous with knowledge

At n0de, we are relentlessly curious and continuously learning. We thrive on asking questions, experimentation, measurement, and taking calculated risks. When we discover something new and exciting, we share it widely so we can all grow together.

Collaborate for collective impact

n0de believes in collective effort for meaningful change. Our way is the way of teams, partners, and community. We know we can’t solve every problem alone, but we genuinely believe that together, we can save the world.

Finding the fun helps get it done

We love what we do and believe it’s the most important thing we can do to help others. Sometimes it's hard. Sometimes it's a muddle. Sometimes it’s a joy! Making it fun gives us the strength to push through the tough times. We want everyone we work with to have fun too.
